If you had it your way, parking around town would be a whole lot easier.

With the addition of overnight parking meters and special meters that are set aside for hybrid cars only, we might be getting one step closer.
In the next few months over 3,000 parking meters will be swapped for programmable Smart Meters that will allow drivers to park their cars from 2am - 8am Monday thru Saturday nights, while Sundays will remain free. Smart Meters are solar powered, wireless, parking meters that accept coins as well as credit/debit cards and have digital screens to better communicate with you.
Hybrid cars may be in luck as well. We’ve found one hybrid meter downtown so far on 17th & Glenarm St., but we’re sure there are more to follow. You can also find three reserved stalls for hybrids in the Convention Center Garage to park for free for up to eight hours in their garage.
That’s reason enough to toot your own horn.
